Broadway Routine

All times are approximate and flexible around the children’s individual needs.

Our day starts at 9.00 am with settling activities with our parents/carers and a range of free choice activities on offer and one adult-led topic based activity. Our parents & carers are welcome to settle us to an activity of our choice.

We can self select activities and choose experiences in line with what we need and know. There are photos to help us select toys and we can play with sand or water or other messy play. There are small world things, a book corner, jigsaws, Duplo, painting and drawing and we can go outside.

At 10.15 am– we start to tidy up together and then sit down for a game, songs or story sack.

At 10.30 amwe have GROUP snack time – we have a choice of fruit and milk or water to drink and we can get down from the table once we have had enough. This is followed by more playing, learning and interacting!

THEN at 11.30 am we all tidy up inside, and have a go at putting our coats on then go outside to play on the bikes, scooters, with wheelbarrows or prams. We also have a big tractor and a trolley we can pull each other along in.

At 11.45pm we sing and dance to music & rhymes or get the parachute out.

Then at 12 noon our Mummys, Daddy’s or carers come to pick us up. We can carry on singing and dancing while we wait for them so we feel happy and secure.

Morning session ends at 12 noon

If there is a late-collected child - they will be kept involved with two staff, tidying up - sorting out for the next day to minimise possible distress.

Towerview Routine

Our day starts at 9.00 am with settling activities with our parents/carers and a range of free choice activities on offer and one adult-led topic based activity. Our parents & carers are welcome to settle us to an activity of our choice. We self register by putting our names on the Tower board and we can sign in as well.

During the morningwe can self select activities and choose experiences in line with what we need and know. There are photos to help us select toys and we can play with sand or water or other messy play. The staff begin different activities each day and we can get involved to see what is happening, make something to bake or play a game. There are small world things, a book corner, home corner, a variety of things to help our fingers develop like jigsaws, Duplo, painting and drawing. We can always go outside where we can run, jump, hop and skip (developing our big muscles & balance–which also helps us to write!) and interact with our friends in the playhouse or in the den we have made. There are bikes/scooters/balance bikes or we can play with hoops or stilts. Sometimes we may go into the village for a walk to get some provisions or to see something new. (parental permission given on admission form).

From 9.45 to 11 there is free-flow snack baroffering us a choice of fruit and milk or water to drink. We have to remember to take our names off the Tower board, wash our hands then get a plate and cup and choose what we would like to eat. We can choose when we want to come to snack, so that if we are really involved we can carry on learning and interacting, giving us continuous provision.

At around 11.15 am

we all tidy up inside, and have a go at putting our coats on then go outside to play on the bikes, scooters, with wheelbarrows or prams. We also have a big tractor and a trolley we can pull each other along in.

Morning session ends at 12 noonwhen some of us go home or some arrive for the afternoon session- just before we have our lunch (pre-packed lunches from home).

After lunch at around 1pm –some of us go home or we help collect the cups, wipe tables and then we have a quick group story/song time before saying what we would like to play with.

AFTERNOON SESSIONS -we can carry on with what we started in the morning or try something else. Sometimes we play board games in small groups, sometimes we play football on the field or running games in the youth centre area.

We may go into the village for a walk to get some provisions or to see something new.

Tidy up time is around 2.30 pm.– we might have storytelling, play with the lycra, parachute or sing nursery rhymes into microphones & listen to ourselves singing back. We are kept involved while parents/carers are collecting to ensure that we feel happy and secure.

THE AFTERNOON SESSION ENDS AT 3 PM

there is a late-collected child - they will be kept involved with the staff, tidying up- sorting out for the next day to minimise possible distress.

ON FOREST SCHOOL DAYS – we sing our welcome song to each child and take our names off the Tower board before going to the toilet, washing our hands and then getting our coats on. We have to try to remember to take off our shoes and put overalls, forest school coat and welly boots on. The staff say “try and we will help you” – which they always do. This is good practice for being independent for getting ourselves dressed in the morning and for PE lessons when we go to school. We then go off to forest school–after a counting session and doing the ’rules’, we have snack sat under the trees. Then we can go and explore, make mud-pies, climb the climbing tree or play with our friends in the forest. Sometimes we all lie on the ground & look up into the trees.
